Mobility disruptions due to the El Corte Inglés Race
On the morning of Sunday 5 May, during the 44th El Corte Inglés Race, all roads along the route will be closed to traffic. The most affected districts will be Les Corts and L’Eixample, and to a lesser extent Sarrià-Sant Gervasi and Gràcia. Several bus lines will also be affected.
The earliest restrictions will begin at 9 pm on Friday 3 May, when no parking will be allowed on Viladomat between Aragó and Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes. From 6 pm on Saturday, restrictions will be in place at the intersection of Casp and Pau Claris, on Ronda de Sant Pere between Plaça d’Urquinaona and Plaça de Catalunya, and on parts of Plaça de Catalunya. Finally, from 5 am on Sunday, parking will be restricted on a section of Plaça de Francesc Macià. In all three cases, the restrictions will end at 12 noon on Sunday 5 May.
Traffic restrictions will start at 8.30 am on Sunday and will gradually be lifted as the race progresses until 12 noon. All the streets along the route will be affected: Passeig de Gràcia from Mallorca to Aragó and from Gran Via to Plaça de Catalunya; Aragó from Passeig de Gràcia to Casanova; Comte Borrell from Consell de Cent to Gran Via; Diputació from Comte d’Urgell to Viladomat; Marina from Gran Via to Casp; Casp from Passeig de Gràcia to Pau Claris; Bruc from Gran Via; Girona from Casp to Gran Via; Bailèn from Gran Via to Casp; Roger de Flor from Casp to Gran Via; Nàpols from Gran Via to Casp; Sicília from Casp to Gran Via; Sardenya from Gran Via to Casp; Rambla de Catalunya from Gran Via to Ronda de la Universitat; and Bergara.
Traffic will be diverted in the opposite direction along Avinguda Diagonal from Pere Duran Farell to Avinguda de Pedralbes, and on Bergara. There will also be diversions at points along Avinguda Diagonal, Passeig de Gràcia, Aragó and Gran Via.
Disruptions to public transport
Several bus lines will be diverted or restricted during the race. The affected lines are D40, D50, H6, H8, H10, H12, H16, V3, V5, V7, V9, V11, V13, V15, V17, V19, V21, 6, 7, 19, 22, 24, 27, 33, 34, 39, 47, 54, 55, 59, 63, 67, 68, 78, 113, 141 and the blue and red Bus Turístic routes.
